To celebrate the centenary of Beuys' birth Cliff Gorman and Paul Russell Cooper are creating a puppet theatre which will tour the South West in 2021 performing a series of short outdoor performances of a play written by Paul as a satirical fairy tale. In the play an itinerant giant comes across a stone barricade. He steps over it and encounters a land of prejudice, isolationism and environmental neglect. AND there’s not a tree in sight...The play is loosely based on Beuys' environmentally inspired social sculpture ‘7000 Oaks'
